I'm considering a medium complexity social manipulation game with crude graphics. Would anyone play a 3D text-based game?

My parents got so mad at me when they saw me watching your youtube video of 'Rape: The Game'. Actually ya know I don't know if it breaks any laws to allow minors to compete in this. Because if the game is pornographic (which I sincerely hope some are) then technically its pornography which means minors are not allowed to see it? Maybe someone can find the legal context on that. Also as a general rule of thumb, don't look at any online video with the word "Rape" on it with your parents in the house.

I don't think it counts if it's your own work. Playing others, well that is law breaking.

Is the Adult section refering just to sexual aspects or does it include other things associated with Adult films such as themes, language, and other such elements?
TIG Compos themes are open to interpretation.

I'm thinking of making a shoot 'em up with a corpulent theme. Always wanted to make a shmup. It may involve party hats.
EDIT: Moved game ideas to ideas dump.

Been lurking for too long need to get in on the action going to go all out for this one. May be out of a job soon so plenty of time to be making games. I was having trouble quantifying what makes something "adult" (giant cocks and huge boobs are obvious) so i took a look at ratings systems here is a link to the BBFC ratigs guidelines. You never know it may be useful. http://www.bbfc.co.uk/downloads/pub/Guidelines/BBFC%20Classification%20Guidelines%202009.pdf

Hahaha, so, I don't know if somebody else pointed this out before, but the sexy lady in the compo banner is apparently from STRIP FIGHTER 2, which is exactly what it sounds like: a porn game ripoff of Street Fighter 2

BoneTown anyone? This is all easier said then done. There is plenty of smut in various flash games, but I hope you had something better than that in mind.
As for educational, educational should not be preachy... there is plenty of games with loads of educational stuff lurking under he surface.
All management titles for example. Not to mentioned classics like Civilization, Oregon Trail or Sim City. I learned geography of the Caribbean playing Pirates and names of roman provinces from Centurion. Life and Death is also a great example. My personal digging for ideas will I guess start from digging through oldies.

Man, I really want to enter this compo, however, I feel that I would only have a 5% chance of being able to submit a somewhat playable game. So, I dunno if I should start a thread for a project that may never see completion. It would be quite embarrassing. Whatever I start would eventually be finished regardless. Plus my game or idea at the moment is pornographic and involves slavery. This theme fits me, even though I'm still a wannabe indie game designer, I also do erotic art. This is so bizarre too, just a week or two before this compo was announced, I was thinking about adult themes in games and how it is very difficult territory.

So, I dunno if I should start a thread for a project that may never see completion. It would be quite embarrassing. That happens a lot in these compos, don't worry too much about it. There's generally no finger-pointing and ridiculing. This theme fits me, even though I'm still a wannabe indie game designer, I also do erotic art. Well then, you should have a field day!

You know, even though I've been making educational video games for my classes all semester, I somehow didn't draw any connection between that and this. I might end up changing my entry if I can come up with a good enough idea that I could also use for language teaching post-compo.

Chris P. Bacon (our lead programmer) was reading through the Game Maker EULA (because Super Cock Blockers is being developed in GM) and found this interesting little tidbit: You will not distribute or make available to any third party nor make any commercial use of any Game that contains any statement, content, material or communication that:
is pornographic, defamatory, discriminatory, obscene, inflammatory or racist; I feel like they probably wouldn't enforce this, and even if they did we could argue that these games are art and not pornography, but I just wanted to bring this to everyone's attention. Sounds like a bit of law crap that Overmars didn't think entirely through.
Also, he has a reputation of being a dick, but apparently the kind that sits on his ass, not the kind that goes out in search of a fight. You guys are probably in the clear. PROBABLY.

I can think of at least 3 games done in Game Maker that have some mildly pornographic content.
And yes, they were all made by Cactus.
EDIT: Also, the EULA doesn't allow games that infringe copyright. Which means all those Mario and Sonic clones with ripped graphics that you see on Yoyo games aren't legal. Oops.
