Presentation of the roaster #3


Those creatures are women of rich families who died a bad way. They are reborn into those creatures that only seek to cause a maximum of chaos and destruction. Each one has a story, here are some of them:

  • A woman married a man and they were happy until the parents of the woman died. She inherited quite a lot of money. One day the husband signed papers and men in white came to take her to an asylum. She will spend the rest of her life behind bars and will die of old age.
  • A very beautiful woman lives in the city. She has many suitors. One of them who has been rejected decides one day to throw acid to her face. She survives but is marked for ever. Her beauty faded, she were ignored by her family and abandoned by her friends. She will live the rest of her life as a beggar in the neighbourhood she grew up in. She will die of cold during a cool night.
There are thousands of stories, thousands of those creatures. They are all unique. Their powers depend on the life they lived.

I am trying to post one build per week now. In my previous project it was more like one build every 3 to 6 months with a lot of improvements. I would work on a feature, finish it, jump to another, and work on 3 at the same time... That means I could have 3 features ready but wait 3 months to put in online because the 4th one was almost ready but not yet.

Now I post little by little every week, most of the time I don't advertise on small builds.

New character!


For now his name is "The prospector". I am currently working on character selection. I want the player to assess a situation and select the right character for each mission. That's where the prospector will shine.
He is pretty weak. 1 HP, 1 damage every 2 seconds.

For 80% of the selectable characters, he won't be much of a threat, but for the 20% left: he will be their nightmare!

Well the game is done =]. Beer!

I may create one or two more levels in the months to come, but I will not dev anything new.
It's been a curious project, most of my troubles actually were in marketing. I never found my right target.
My perfect target is:
  • people who plays Dead Ahead: Zombie Warfare on mobile
  • people who like strategy games on mobile
  • people who plays desert strike on starcraft 2

I wanted to test this idea of a game where you think for 2 minutes, take decisions, and then watch your character play the game by itself and just watch the consequences of your decisions.
I made a form that you can fill in at the end of the game and only got 2 responses. I expected 10, so I have some data to learn from.
I still had feedbacks here so that's good =] and maybe half of the people that played my game came from tigsource so thanks for your support  Smiley

Okay I really fixed all the bugs now.
It's funny, I made graphic content and developped feature that I never got to use in the game.
I have those 5 characters:






The characters are done and in my unity project, but I have not enough levels to use them.

I don't get what I'm looking at. How is this playable?

You might get much farther making a text based game with image visual aids; as you don't seem to have a grasp on The Platformer, and the pieces intuitively required to grow a game in a platforming space.

What you do seem to have is a good sense of character, and the want for roleplaying mechanics to aid alongside those characters in some sort of fashion.

 Cool hrmmm

You could change the perspective to top-down and make the game follow a cellular grid based system. Leaving the realm of pixel-perfect sub-collisions and gravity. That way you can do all the animation work you want for one type of ground, and have a lil'rogue-checker-rpg game underneath.

With the game understood, you'll be able to build a level editor.. and then the game can be designed and play-tested in a more fun way.
Allowing you to finalize what's what, and then you can do the final wave of work on animations, menu art, screens, effects, whatever. Kielbasa.

For this game I was really looking for a platformer look with a feel of rogue like and RPG.Unfortunately I didn't go through with the project because of a lack of motivation, But compared to a top down view I wanted the player to find pleasure in watching the character play itself, like we like to watch other people play a game.

Thanks for the advice =]. Did you play the game? I wonder if we feel like it's a failed attempt to do a certain genre, or if it's potentially another way to look at a certain genre.

Yeah, something like Gnomoria =D, but because it's only one character it was important to make the animations + vfx fantastic to keep the player entertained.

Well, with the virus and all I have more time so I got back on this game^^

I'm improving the effects first, starting with lightning.


Then I'll improve the interface, then I'll add levels and finally I'll upgrade the gameplay.

The idea of planning ahead is nice, but what I'm kind of missing is the "feedback" that helps me decide which two options will be the best. It's not exactly fair to expect me to plan without knowledge of the battlefield, no? Wink

Hello JobLeonard thanks for your message. I made sure you have all the info you need to make your decision. at the beginning of each level:


In the first game it'll be a bit random yes. But then the pleasure should come from being able to forsee problems and difficulties and overcome them.

I published build 3.4.
  • We now have lights in every levels. It adds to the atmosphere and to the black and white style
  • We now have a real menu. Previously we had 5 buttons present on the screen at all time. It took a lot of place. Now we have only one button, the menu, and it opens on click.


It's not much but I continue on my will to have small but frequent builds. I am 50% done on level 6, it may be playable for the next build.

I'm preparing a gameplay video. It's been ages I wanted to do one but the resolution of the game was 736x375 and I didn't know how to film it correctly.
Now I made the game responsive so it works fine on 1920x1080 Smiley
