I redid the code for my sandbox game - Bitland completely.

Bitland v2.0 is an online sandbox game where players either compete or collaborate to build things out of interlocking plastic bricks, using various different tools, similar to its browser-based predecessor. This game is in early, early access, so stay tuned for updates. The inspiration for Bitland going forward is the old Personal Build Servers feature on ROBLOX. I was aiming to bring back the feature in its own standalone game. For those who are unaware, the Personal Build Servers on ROBLOX allowed people to build and roleplay in maps with their friends, and could update the maps in realtime using various different tools. I wanted to improve upon the concept, and plan on adding runtime scripting in either Lua or a custom language, a fleshed out NPC editor, and more.

Controls:
  • WASD to move
  • Left click with tool in hand to operate the tool
  • Press 1 to equip the hammer, left click to place blocks
  • Press 2 to equip the saw, left click to destroy blocks
  • Press 3 to equip the paintbrush, left click to recolor blocks
  • Press 4 to equip the wrench, left click to modify blocks

Are there any features you'd like to see in Bitland 2? Let me know below! I'm thinking of making a compiler for a custom scripting language, so you can make truly custom builds.
