One of my favorite games growing up was Startopia. They have made a sequel to the game here:

Its really good, the VAL helper voice is really a jerk this time which I suppose is easier to write for but not quite as fun as the original dry brit wit.

The UI is a bit wonky compared to the original: for example when you harvest plants you can't just right click them, you have to click and then again click a button that says harvest which is sort of annoying. Also the teleporter doesn't just teleport when you click, you have to select the item you want before it works. Finally, the UI for building rooms is just broken in some ways.

But its in beta so hopefully they fix that. Did any of you play the original back in the day?

Man, its one of those games I played a few times, and would have loved to delve further into it. Im surprised they are making a sequel. I might try it sometime provided my comp can run it.
