Actually the first version of combat-system had slotting. But after it was rewritten and pushing implemented, sloting was somehow forgotten and not really needed. But why you do not want it? It allows to fight hordes of enemies, that will just give you not chance to hit back with their common hit-rate. I found slotting in single player games is pretty good feature, that just allows more enemies. Or what is bad side of it?

It depends on how intense the slotting is. If there are fifty enemies but only two attack at a time that breaks the immersion. If there are fifty enemies but only ten attack, then it kind of represents a natural bottleneck anyway (because otherwise the enemies would be hitting each other more than you)

Power-up props are pretty good for not boring level design. Every dungeon finger should have some reward at the end. Such altar that give permament/temporary bonus could be a good sort of. By the way it is altar of goddess Ishtar.

You should probably lower the statue's height, or lower the position of the message.

It is convenient and useful when you can click on a stat to understand in more detail what it is composed of. All temporary effects, bonuses from skills, spells and their influence on each stat are shown here too.
