Thanks! That was nice of you to say. Do you mean the first trailer for this game, or first trailer we've ever made? Well we made a game before this with trailers for it, so technically it's not the first time. But yes this is the first for this game but I'd call it more of a teaser since there is no gameplay footage in it.

I love absolutely everything about this besides the voice acting. I'll likely be down for the Kickstarter, but I do have to ask (at the risk of sounding like an a-hole) is the VA going to be a big part of the game? Are the voices in the trailer final?

Hahah! Nope, the voice acting was just myself and the artist. We were really embarrassed. The only places the voices appear are in that teaser. We won't be doing voice acting for the game, unless we magically get to a many stretch goals and are able to afford professionals.

It took a lot of effort to make this trailer.

Three of us made it: myself, Dave, who recorded clips with OBS Studio, then edited them together with KDenLive (this was all done on Linux Ubuntu MATE). Igor Motuz, who created all the pixel art, and Beni.Maru, who made an original score and sound effects.

Additionally, I built a little typewriter project in Godot Engine that allowed me to build automated text cards for the trailer - every letter gets hit with an animation tween, and plays a bunch of typewriter sounds at the right moments!

Sweet! I wasn't trying to knock you guys or anything, you do what you can with what you have. I've always found VA to be distracting in games like this anyways. I do think it looks really good though and I'm putting my money where my mouth is.
