You discover a hollow asteroid filled with procedurally generated mines, facilities, alien creatures, and space-loot.

I am building this sci fi roguelike game over the course of one and a half months. At the end of October it will be released for Android and Windows!

Lots of backend fixes and improvements this week. Here's what I got done:


* Got asteroid field background tiles in.
* Made assets project-local no HTTP requested.
* Updated game icons.
* Got Android build working.
* Numerous graphics + tile fixes.
* Fixed item pickup issues.
* Fixed "drop item" button look.
* Prevent drag-to-scroll on mobile.
* Fixes to combat mechanic.

Issue tracker status: 17 todo / 5 in play / 10 done

What I did this week:

 * Added a bunch of new monsters
 * Added a bunch of new weapons
 * Implemented armour pickups
 * Monsters can now drop loot on death
 * Added more valuables (metals, gems)
 * Fixed how medkits work (HP is now 1/N)
 * Start player in a loot room with empty inventory
 * Inventory fixes
 * Updated HUD design
 * Worked on story, naming, wording
 * Lots of testing, tweaking, game balancing
 * Fixed many bugs

Issue tracker status: 17 todo / 5 in play / 33 done

This week I got a lot done this week on my coffeebreak sci fi roguelike, Asterogue.



What I did this week:

- Implemented the chemical vial pickup type.
- Implemented the nanotech data pickup type.
- Implemented monster attributes and special abilities.
- Got Cordova builds working again for Android.
- Got Electron builds working for Windows.
- Refactored the way tile drawing works to fix various issues.
- Implemented "fog of war" level reveal.
- Implemented "map" pickup type.
- Implemented food pickup type and hunger clock.
- Built a simple server for collecting game stats.
- Many wording and text tweaks.
- Game balancing.
- Fixing bugs.

Issue tracker status: 48 done / 2 in progress / 16 to do.

More progress on my coffeebreak sci fi roguelike.

Big news, Asterogue now has a sound track! It's Holst's The Planets in chiptune format. :D You can have a listen on Soundcloud!.

Current gameplay screenshot:



What I did this week:

- Music! (75% done)
- UI fixes and tweaks.
- Implemented "holdable" arrow buttons.
- Implemented game debug log emailing facility.
- Made alien location map permanent for level.
- New SFX for weapon/armour nanotech.
- Implemented directional sprites.
- New "game juice" animations on item pickup + combat.
- Game balancing.
- Bug fixes.

Issue tracker status: **55 done** / **6 in progress** / **21 to do**.

Play testing is going well. Very clear some of the changes I need to make to balance the game.
