Limbo-esque?

First mock-up for design document group project for class. Nordic-themed touch/gesture-based fighter for the iPad. We won't have time to turn it into a real game, but one can dream.

And here's a mockup of the PC version:

(everybody should post their mockups like this!)

I find the art style reminding more about old greek art then nordic to be honest. Like disney hercules or something of that sort. Guess that's partly all the orange though. And possibly also the clothing to some extent. Don't really feel viking-y to me.

Would still love some alone time with that atari version though! Well, hello there!

Ahahah I love the different console versions you guys made, need to show these to my group. As for what kind of college I go to, it's a state university, but we have a program called Media Informatics that offers courses in 3D animation, Flash programming, and Interactive Non-Linear Storytelling (which this project just so happens to be for). I'm a Media Informatics major, as well as a Fine Arts minor and an Honors minor.

The art looks great... I still feel odd about the woman's costume design, though. Even though they're covered up, the boobs still appear like they're popping out of her coat. I don't know anything about the character, so I can't say if it suits them, it just looks unappealing to me.

What is an honors minor?  It sounds like your minoring in honor, so you get to take a bunch of samurai/knight classes where they teach you about honor.  Somehow I don't think that's what it is.

Also, I agree that the woman's chest is weird even with the coat over it.  The art looks amazing though!

It's a minor in my college's honors program that students with a GPA over a certain point are able to apply for; honors classes tend to be smaller than normal ones, and cover more 'fun' subjects for curriculum. Last fall I was involved in an honors course on Road Travel Literature and Film, wherein we analyzed On the Road and I did comic essays about movies like Little Miss Sunshine and Thelma and Louise. This semester I'm taking an honors philosophy course on theories of the mind and of consciousness, it's pretty interesting so far.

oh ok, we had honors classes but it would just be like Math 19a is normal calculous quarter 1 Math 20a is honors calculous quarter 1 and it's a bit harder, but anyone could take either classes.  We had some classes that sound like those (we had a bunch of film classes and a class on comics etc.) too but none of those were considered honors.  It's always interesting all the differences between places Smiley

working on a small Roguelike. you are trapped in a arctic cave and need to escape. You want to make sure that you don't run out of lamp oil. also I was going to use a mechanic that the player has a hint system to point them towards the exit. I was using a journal, but will probably use something else, like a talisman or something very other worldly. My hope is to give commentary along the bottom as if the character is telling the story.
