Long time no post here. So I have been remaking an older game that I worked on two years ago. While still going with pixel art, I have changed the game to a much cleaner style than before. Here is the old menu (2011): Here is the new log-in screen (2013): The new menu art was pixelled by me from a sketch done by Ryan Sicat. The one aspect of the pixel art that is maintained is that the art needs to be quick to produce so I can get my ideas out and get something playable. =D

Old unused asset things.

That is really amazing art! I was inspired to do a quick mockup of puzzle platformer with original Prince of Persia mechanics using a flat, cartoony pixel art style.

As I approached the ritual bonfire, the stench of decay and hermit breath spanked my nostrils raw. The ash the shaman painstakingly smudged onto my face did little to mitigate the smell. As my olfactories adjusted, I sensed a more subtle aroma... magic? I fingered the loop on my yoyo string in anticipation. Seriously those sprites are boss.

Even shoddily drawn stuff can look appealing with decent colors, shading, and composition.
Perfectionism is good and all, but I also like it when a piece leaves sharp corners intact, and doesn't try to hide that it's improvised. Something like "good bad art".

thanks for the compliments! and yeah I'm not that great technically so I tend to focus more on the overall aesthetic, and hope that compensates. I mean, those trees in the background are the worst thing ever!
