In the process of making an engine for a spooky computer hacking sort of kind of game. Still not sure what to make of it though. Anybody has an idea?



Awesome. How about the computer is possessed/evil? Kind of like "The Exorcist" but instead of a priest trying to get a demon out of a little girl, you're a computer hacker trying to get a demon out of "the system". "Constantine" meets "Mr. Robot"?  Smiley

The stakes could be losing your soul, if you succumb to the computer's evil influences/temptations/lies before you can hack the demon out of there. And perhaps the souls of your friends and loved ones whose computers have also been infected by the demonic virus, kind of like "The Ring".

Would be awesome if the game was entirely in 1st person like that, the whole time you're just staring at the computer screen, typing - and 3D hands type the same keys that the player types in real-time. And maybe the hands (and player's reflection on the screen?) change over time as they get closer and closer to losing their soul. Could be a really scary VR game.

Anyway, that's the kind of ideas that your mockup speaks to me. Very creepy! Smiley

This is kind of a half concept art, half mockup thing I made a while back inspired by old sonic the hedgehog concept art and a pachinko machine we had when I was younger. It's a very rough idea of how I'd like a stage to look in a platformer I might try to make someday.



And another older one.



Here's 4 more, it turned out to be more than a mockup but didn't get much further than that.

I call it "world travelling rpg", but yeah pretty linear adventure, more you walk the backgrounds etc start to change, towns & dungeons start to appear too etc.
I have the code done, that changes play area bit by bit how far you have walked, but everything else is still in the air. :b

Just one linear world, but as I said there would be different towns, dungeons and quests that take you away from the main path for a very brief time.  Coffee

I had a vision of a minimalist looking game with very few colors. You would hide in the shadows and disappear because your character is the same color as the shadow. Except for a cool red dot or whatever.
