Hey I remember seeing your mockups on indie dev twitter. This is cool! I always thought that the visual world of dungeon crawlers was way more interesting before they could make everything slightly different shades of brown like it's "supposed" to be, that in fact a large part of these games' appeal was the stylized alien-ness of their environments.

The 1 bit stuff kicks ass, in summary, and i want to play a game that looks like that.

I based the elvish heroes on Battle for Wesnoth's elves, as I'd really like to make a roguelite inspired on BFW sometime.

These are ui mockups for a species-creating, civilization-managing, action-platformer I'm working on. Think spore+catacomb kids.
Basically you manage your civilization, discover new tech, etc. and go on quests&adventures with your hero, platformer style.
I want the game to be in 320*180, so it's quite a challange to fit everything on the screen.






I really like how the ui turned out, though now i'm a bit stuck with ingame graphics..

I am fan of your style, but you probably know that already (or not).

The mock up reminds me of that Alice in Wonderland game for the Nintendo DS (pretty good puzzle platforming game, if I say so myself).

@LyricalReverie - Thanks a lot! I can see some similarities, especially with the character sprites. I had a less sketchy version in mind originally but I'm still pretty satisfied with how it turned out.
