Hi, we're a small team of amateurs and this is our very first project.

quaDrop is a tetromino game complete with highscore board, two game modes, music, sound effects and installer. The game is written in C# using the XNA framework. It's played via keyboard or XBox 360 game pad.

For tetromino veterans it has a lot to offer in terms of gameplay because you can do special moves and score extra points. Ever heard of a T-spin or an I-twist? The current shape can be moved and rotated as long as it glows even when already grounded. This allows maneuvering the shape in tight spaces.

The game is freeware, you can download in two versions: as msi installer package or as manual install. The installer has the XNA runtime on board and installs it if needed. The only prerequisite is that .NET v3.5 is installed on your system.

If you don't like installers then you can do a manual install, just unzip the archive and you're done. You need to have .NET v3.5 and XNA v3.0 runtime installed in order to run the game.

Visit our website (under construction) if you want to know more about the game.

You can download the game here:
quaDrop v1.0 msi installer (12.6 MB, including XNA runtime)
quaDrop v1.0 (6.5 MB)

pretty good tetris game.

consider this:
the controls were a bit confusing maybe make them custiomizable:
pushing up for swirl the block and down to bring them -slowly- down.
another key for bringing the block down fast and anotehr one for hold it.

more worthwhile tetris freeware clones.
tetra blocks (best tetris clone!)
quadra (good tetris clone with online play)
crystal cubes (nice 3d tetris clone with cool effects)

Thanks for your comment. The controls are designed for two-handed play: right for movement, left for rotation. We did this because we wanted to feature clockwise and counter clockwise rotation which leads to faster game play and allows special moves.

Though, customizable controls would be definitely a plus.
