Judging by your signature, my diagnosis is now that you actually qualify as a game designer, you needed something to fill in that feelin' of emptiness that stemmed from your want to be something, so your body took in the nearest scum and used it to plague your system.

Sherman Gill! Crustacean Overlord and now... Spinal Surgeon!

Realization: Shit! I'm not Sherman Gill. Why am I not?
For lack of an answer, I'll fill it in with a more metaphysical question: Why am I I?

Wow, this is great! Awesome idea and an aweseome game as far as I can see. Wish I didn't have my hands full with my main game project, because I would love to help out. Well, I can only hope that the one I'm working on won't take another two years to finish and that there will be further projects like this - if this one succeeds... which I do hope Wink
Good luck and looking forward to progress!

I think I throw my real name around too much. Everyone on the internet seems to know it.

Inane is a cool word I picked out of an old dictionary.

Sherman Gill was a Merman in Phantom Brave who had 26 attribute points at his conception.

And my real name comes from my grandmother, Lorna.

Hey, thanks Koach!  Good to see you on here.  Smiley

If you can squeeze in any time for brainstorming, please do!

Update:  I didn't get around to setting up the first Public Build today.  But I should be able to tomorrow.  Sorry guys!  Sad

Everything important is in place, I just wanna make sure joypad support works (I don't have one yet!) and the test stage is pretty and that sort of stuff.  Wink

EDIT:  @Lorne:  Heh, that's cool that your name comes from your grandma.  Mine comes from a romance novel. Sad

Heh, yeah, if anything useful comes to my mind, I won't hesitate to spill it here. But it seems that you are already beyond the brainstorming phase and I'm always careful when it comes to later ideas for features and such. Wink

Anway, looking forward to the first playable release - it will be public..right? The movement seems pretty complex - at least there are many different animations (which all look quite funky BTW) for different situations, so I'm curious already how it will feel ingame...

GAAHK. I am chomping at the bit to try it out!

On the subject of joypads, what does everyone use? I used to use a dualshock with an adapter, but I'm digging what microsoft did with the wired usb ones. I really like the 360 controller (apart from the D-pad. Room for improvement there.)

If it were to become some kind of defacto standard for PC joypads (and it looks like it's being pushed that way), I wouldn't have any problems with that, personally. Less fuss coding for all kinds of configurations.

I use one that's basically a PS2 controller, but with "auto" function.

Been using a Saitek P880 for more or less 5 years.
Will probably change soon but only for a simple model.
Don't like too many buttons.

That looks horribly malicious and/or evil, but I'm too ingenuous to figure out the terrible hidden meaning. Until I learn how cruel the real world can be, I'll just think you're a gamepad with little arms.
