might i suggest Graphics Gale, i use this all the time and it is incredible for sprite creation.  There is a free version and a commercial version but i find that the free version works just fine.  It can export into a sprite sheet and you can have multiple frames, layers and it does onion skinning as well.  I really like it , thought you might want to try it out. Only problem with it is that you have to pay for it if you want to export to gif. but i just use a different program to do that. hope this helps.

Graphics Gale is awesome for former TGF'ers.

Thanks!  toooo kind.    Grin

I'd say go ahead and post what you get done, or you could save if for later.  There's still the sewer level and some more levels that could use some meeces.  I think Atomic's lab needs to be infested.  Lips Sealed  Post it all up man!  I'm Sure BMcC would love 'em.

Hi!  I have a few questions about the music in this wonderful project.

Is music still needed?
If so, any special file considerations (format, sizer, etc.)
Any particular style?  Lenghth?

I apologize if these questions have already been answered, but it's a huge freakin' thread and I have not read through most of it.

Since I feel this orwhelming need to contribute, I have attached a small tune written using the samples from one of the public build songs.

Just an update:

In case you guys were expecting him to get in on this hot fire this week, BMcC is actually at an all-week family reunion with no internets.  Look for him around this weekend or soon after.

That is all.

Attached a "Guy Balding flips a switch" animation.  It's a shrunken version of the one in Derek's level ...

So, I was wondering what animations have and haven't been done, of the recent ones that BMcC needed for milestone 2.  For reference, here's the list I see:

Quote from: Re: Throwing/Weapon Animations --  I'd like to have a few generic animations that we could "attach" item animations to, ala Castlevania.  Like, maybe a slash, overhead swing, and drawing a gun animations.  That would cover nearly everything, I think.

Death from spikes
Quote from: Death from lava

  (or death from fire)
Quote from: Death from axe (could be generic hit-by-enemy animation)

Quote from: Death from guillotine (could also be generic... unless you want to have some fun)
?
Quote from: Death from fall

(in the public build one thread)
Quote from: Executioner winding up his axe swing
This is part of the swing animation ...
Quote from: Executioner swinging his axe

Quote from: Executioner hit

- Executioner KO'd
- Executioner out
- Executioner waking up
- Executioner standing, maybe looking around suspiciously
- Executioner's skeleton
Quote from: Rats running
Quote from: Rats stopping and standing
- Maybe rats pausing and then jumping to attack
Quote from: Any details/props you can think of
- Lava bubbling, bursting, gurgling
Quote from: OTHER
(guy balding in rat form)
(flipping a switch)

 So, animations still needed are:

- maybe a slash [for guy balding]
- and drawing a gun animations
- Death from guillotine (if you want to have some fun with it)
- Death from spikes
- Executioner winding up his axe swing
- Executioner KO'd
- Executioner out
- Executioner waking up
- Executioner standing, maybe looking around suspiciously
- Executioner's skeleton
- Maybe rats pausing and then jumping to attack
- Any details/props you can think of
- Lava bubbling, bursting, gurgling

Awesome!  Thanks, Zaphos.  Kiss

Oh hey, I just wanted to let everyone know that BQ is still high on my action item list, but that it seems like I haven't been around lately 'cause... well, I haven't.  Tongue  As you all (maybe) know, I've been all over the place the past few months.  Though I'm done with traveling for the foreseeable future, I'm now busy with moving.

However!

This is good news.  Once I'm moved in (which shouldn't take too terribly long), I'm going to set up the sexiest studio this side of the Mississippi.  And I'm going to have a lot more, and more efficient, time to work on things, BQ included.

So I guess the moral is... Keep doin' BQ stuff if you're so inclined!  That animation list is a good place to start.  Once I'm back I'll be more effective than ever and put in extra effort to make it up to you great folks still stayin' strong with this project.  I love you guys.  Now... back to the city I go.  Peace!

Actually, I'm going to lock this thread for now, because I think we should hold off on development until you're nice and settled.  Once the code for Milestone 2 is complete (working dungeon level with all the already done graphics in place), go ahead and unlock the thread and let people know what else you need to finish it off.

Good luck with the move! Wink
