So awhile ago I did a topic about jazz fusion but now I'd like some FUNK recs (preferably American as that's the flavor I'm into right now but any funky music from all over the world is appreciated)

Funk has a different flavor than fusion I've found- I'd say it's more "digestable" but it has many of the same elements as fusion- jazzzzy! And an emphasis on sweet bass grooves.

If anyone wants to share your fav funk (or jazz/blues/rnb whatever kind of music with a little or a lot of funk) please do!

Predictable reply, but I guess someone will inevitably post this anyway, so it might as well be me:

Funk and jrpgs are a good combination. Actually I was listening to a lot more funk(and asking for recs) to get inspiration for the "battle" themes in a rpg I'm trying to make.
A battle theme wip

However a jrpg that is mainly about funk would be really cool. I feel like having earthbound-like battle background are fitting for such a game. Or like, idk the battles take place on a giant disco ball
