Hi, just hoping to find someone who has experience with publishers that can help.

Is it a normal procedure to transfer my game appid on steam to the publisher?

Depends on your contract, I imagine. Wasn't neccessary back when I did this, but the publisher soon went under, so I have no experience. On one side they sure need to see the numbers, manage the shop page, forums and all the PR channels. On the other side, you still need to be able to publish patches.

You can give other users all sorts of permissions over your Steam backend. Actually transferring your appid sounds like a large and mostly unnecessary leap of trust.
