Finally played it Smiley
I'm curious what happens if I don't pick trick, and I think there's a lot of branches I might have liked to see, but the animations (input animations!) take a little while so I'm not sure I want to dive back in right away ^^;

Loved the knocking, really gave every character a unique new axis of personality/expressiveness... Position! Speed! Number of knocks! Good stuff.

Glad you think it has some good stuff to it! and yeah maybe I should make the option selection confirmation a bit more snappy. Thank you for playing, and thank you for the feedback! It means a lot Smiley

I'm prepping for another update soon. adds some fun stuff, a cool shader, people "reject" candy they don't want, etc. Will polish up the option selection confirmation speed a bit and most likely add enter and space as ways to confirm options instantly after being selected, so if you did want to explore different branches then I'd wait for that! Just tried out the Linux build, worked flawlessly Smiley

Took me a while to realize that I had to hold the key for a few seconds to confirm - I thought the opening menu was bugged on Linux for a while!

I've gotten this same feedback from others, so I will correct the ux accordingly in the next update. Thank you for testing the game!! Smiley <3

1.2 is out Hand Joystick

added:
-candy "rejection"
-secrets

cool:
-there is now a color aberration noise shader

qol:
-can now use space or enter to select options
-increased the spin up speed when tossing candy
-added an option to turn off the color aberration noise shader

Was the aberration shader inspired by the VCR effects you used in the trailer? Smiley

It's something I had in mind for the project since before I started, but I knew it was out of scope for my estimated initial time frame. I put in on a list of stuff that would have to wait until after I felt comfortable releasing v1.0, so in the mean time I tried to embody my vision for the games visual style in the trailer, and now I've got around to finding a good-enough solution for what I had originally wanted. Hey, thanks for wondering : D
