CYBEL

Hey everyone!

We're a team of two and we've been working for a month on our first game : CYBEL

You play as Cybel, a mythological entity that will climb a gigantic tower and anihilate everything in each floor she visits.

It's a nervous top down shooter with a "rewind" mechanic on player death.

Each level is one floor of the tower, where you'll need to shoot or melee all ennemies, solve minor puzzles, and go back to the elevator to progress to the next level.

We're now approaching the theorical end of develppement and would like to ask for your feedback on visuals and gameplay previews that we will share here during the upcoming weeks.
 Wink
The goal is to have a beta ready in the next weeks.

Thanks everyone for being here early   Hand Thumbs Up Left My Word! Toast Right

You can follow us on Twitter https://twitter.com/Cybel_TheGame

Stay tuned

Looks cool!! Good giant coat.

I really like the idea of a rewind that automatically triggers on death, but in your GIF it makes it look a bit... disorienting? Would definitely be interested in trying out a beta t0 see how it feels for myself Smiley

Thanks Smiley

Hopefully the rewind seems less disorienting in game that its look on that Gif, but it will need fine tuning for sure Wink

If you're interested in testing, we would be glad to have your feedback on how the rewind (and the gameplay) feel ^^.
If everything go as planned we will share the first early version before next week.

Hey Bedehess! Thanks for sharing your project. It looks really promising and I love the style!

Thanks Alain  Grin

We hope that what's comming next lives up to the expectations!

(Most of the UI and some of the environment is WIP)

We're excited to share a test version here soon, so if you like the perspective of dying a lot, stay tuned !

First of all, thank you for all the feedback. A lot more people than expected downloaded the game so far and it's all the push we need to make the game as good and polished as we can.
Many of you requested a timer and it's an excellent idea : we added one in this version! We cant'wait to compare our best times with yours Grin.

Here the list of stuff that changed with the 0.2 update:  "About Time"

New features:
Added a timer counting your time on each floor.
Best time on each level is saved.

Bug fixes:
Fixed a bug where the player loses control of Cybel when they die while shooting their last ammo.
Fixed some out of bound spots.

Art:
New ennemy death visual FX
Improved push-buttons sound and visual FX.
Cables from buttons now indicates if it's on or off.

Other:
Mouse is now functional in the menu (and it's a fly)
Medals are now more visible

Next week, we'll be working on new levels and some top secret content.

Stay tuned for our next update!  Gentleman

Do you also plan to release it on Steam ?

We are not sure if its worth it yet, is it in your experience ?

We plan to think about it in when the game is closer to 1.0 Smiley

From my experience yes, on itch.io I did not even make 1% of the money I made on Steam but maybe you have some huge magical fanbase on Itch.io and you can make better results on it

You made good progress on your game since last I checked, I also must say I love the tentacle shapes you added.

Why do you need a Kickstarter and how much money you plan on asking?

Hey, thanks for your comments Alain & Ramos !

We'd like to work full time on Cybel, because we won't be able to develop it if we only work on our free time. One of the solution is to make a kickstarter, the ideal solution is to have a publisher  Gentleman

The ideal budget is around 30k but we plan to ask for 18k if we opt for Kickstarter.
