    Title: Falleswen - New Land
    Game genre: Real-Time Strategy (RTS)
Technology: C++, Lua and SFML, Sol2

The graphics are made entirely by us.

Project website with devlog also available on itch.io!

    Game Description:
Falleswen - New Land is a real-time isometric strategy written in C++, Lua, and SFML. I started the project with an old friend at WSoC 2018 - the annual polish game jam and after announcing the results I decided to continue working on the game. In the meantime, a new person has joined the game, who has been developing the GUI. Since then I continue working on the game.

You play the role of the leader of the nomads fleeing their homeland due to hunger, and your goal is to provide your people with a decent life. You start out with only a few resources and you have to adapt to the conditions in this inhospitable land. Wild animals and the weather will not welcome you with open arms, but the rich resources tempt the unwise who dream of becoming lords of these lands.

If you don't give up and survive the first winter, you will prove to your people that you are worthy of being a leader. Lead your people and make your paltry huts replaced with magnificent townhouses, and your poor technology moves forward. Take care of the economy and the condition of the treasury and subjugate your rivals!

    Current state:
    • A dynamic and lively world with animations and randomly generated terrain.
    • Highly customizable terrain generator that allows you to modify many parameters.
    • System for building various structures.
    • Employees with AI - they can find the shortest way to the goal and perform tasks.
    • A system of tasks that allows you to easily configure an employee and handle his further behavior in the event of success or failure.
    • Original GUI and the HUD created with it, along with a minimap, research window, building panel, etc.
    • A technology tree with modifications to units and buildings.
    • The basic enemy who steals our resources and will also attack in the future.

    In plans:
    • A system of seasons that change the environment and the number of resources.
    • Extensive AI with more options.
    • Scriptable scenarios and campaign with the plot.
    • Own atmospheric soundtrack.
    • More buildings and units!

The first demo will probably be available in summer 2021.

    Screens:

I like the visuals but I am a bit confused, is it an RTS or a sim (like SimCity)? Because RTS implies some heavy strategy and  generally involving management of army elements regarding combat

Yea, It's mainly RTS which is inspired by Stronghold and Empire-Earth series and fighting will be important part of the game. I would like to add many types of military units like slingers, archers, macemen, swordsmen etc.

But of course economic side and building the cities also are essential to survive Tongue

I've never heard of this project. I will check it out, thanks :D

I loved Stronghold. Can you also add walls and towers?
But the "simple" fact that you will add combat makes me interested. Looking forward to seeing what you create

I like the column-y landscape style. I know it's difficult to implement, but have you tried making a few consecutive tiles flat? The wood areas, for example, might look even better if its ground would consist of larger part of the same height.

I'm also quite intrigued by Falleswen and what you are planning for it. Keep up the great work RhAnjiE!

Of course that I will add some defend structures like this. I want to make advanced technology tree based on epochs so at first we will be able to build only provisional walls and towers but later research allow us to upgrade them. :D

Likewise, unit types will initially be limited to only clubmen but after some time the game will unlock new types like slingers, macemen etc.

Yes, it's possible. Thanks for good tip! I will rebuild generator system soon and then I will upload screens with new terrain :D

    Thank you very much!
