About the game



SupremaShip is a singleplayer 2D top-down space shooter about teamwork with AI controlled ships. The game features an Asteroids-like visual style upgraded to 1000%. This game has a heavy emphasis on teamwork, meaning it can’t be beaten alone, if you ever manage to do that, please tell me, I'll make sure that'll never happen again Wink.

It is being developed by one person, myself.

It is currently in an alpha stage but stable enough to be playable.

Your objective is simple: Go right and destroy the enemy mothership with the help of your friendly allies (oh, and you'll find some enemy ships occasionally, destroy them as well XD)





Gameplay

1 - Move
2 - Aim
3 - Boost
4 - Shoot
5 - Kill
6 - Collect powerups
7 - Help
8 - Be helped
9 - Die
10 - Repeat step 1







Main features

- Teamwork system, called Team Command Mode
    - Ships follow the leader (the one with a crown)
    - Allies can attack an enemy that you select if you're the leader
    - Selected allies can attack an enemy that is attacking another ally
    - Ask an ally to share its XP
    - Ask an ally to fire and/or explode a nuke
    - Ask an ally to activate its special ability
- 3 formation options
- 7 different ship types in which 6 of them have unique abilities
- 3 weapon types
- 8 ship upgrades
- Sllloooooowwwwww moooooootionnnnn
- Dynamic soundtrack
- No HUD (there won't be any)
- A cute golden crown
- A bunch of hexagons

SupremaShip has just been updated to version alpha 0.0.5 stable!

I was planning on releasing a mobile port but, due to performance issues, I couldn't.

But this update is full of little improvements and juiciness.



CHANGE LOG

- Added a few new sound effects
- Added indicators on powerups when you don't have them
- Added a magnetic effect when you're close to a powerup and you don't have that powerup
- Added a mine indicator



- Changed the nuke indicator to a hexagon
- Team Command Mode ship stats are (perhaps) fully implemented
- Updated the mothership's sprite
- Added a placeholder loading screen
- Added a SupremaShip indicator (when you have full XP)
- Updated honor sprites



- Added screen transitions between menus



- AI ships now share their XP automatically when on critical health
- Added camera shake



- Added a difficulty indicator on the top of the screen
- AI ships fire nukes when on critical health



- Explosions now destroy bullets and missiles
- Improved sound design
- Quick team commands now work as expected, some indicators will be added later
- Updated the team ambience music

BUGS FIXED

- Pause menu no longer stops appearing
- Fixed a crash with the missile's behavior
- AI ships tended to get stuck at the top and bottom borders of the map
- Fixed a crash with the trails

SupremaShip can finally be beaten!

How? One of the motherships has to be destroyed.

CHANGE LOG

- Lose, win and true ending can be triggered. The true ending is unfinished, however...
- Synergy bonus, ally ships have their stats improved the more allies are closer to them
- Better fonts, not final, though
- Nukes explode without damaging anything if their owner dies
- Nuke notifiers are the color of the nuke they belong to



- AI ships react to nuke explosions



- Nuke explosions now have a shockwave
- Nukes kill you more slowly
- Different explosions have different knockback forces
- Leveling up creates a shockwave



- Ships can only be stunned for a certain ammount of time, instead of being stunned based on their angular velocity
- Calling for help when an enemy attacks you now works as intented. AI does this as well



- AI attacks the mothership as intended... almost
- Added "spaceshipwrecks"



- Chromatic aberration toggle in the Display settings menu
- FPS toggle, click on it whenever the game is on the main menu or paused
- Auto upgrade toggle



- Afterlife camera tracking



- Laser hits friendly mines



- Laser ricochets off of shields



- Missiles ricochet off of shields



- The Healer can be fully healed by a health powerup
- You can respawn as any ship when the difficulty is high enough
- Improved XP system, it takes more XP the higher your honor
- Honor 3 SupremaShips have a special sprite combination



- Iterated on powerup drops
- Iterated on the game's difficulty
- Iterated on the game's UI
- Improved XP orb behavior



- Improved camera shake
- Improved sound design
- Improved slow motion handling
- Improved the way the Lev-Y uses its special ability



- Decreased the Bomber's bomb defusing time
- Decreased frequency in which Scouts use their special ability

I love the idea that you have to rely on your AI companions and all the different ways you can control/command them. Looks awesome!

I do intend on releasing the game on multiple platforms, mainly Windows, Mac and Linux. I don't know how it would work out on console with a gamepad, I'll try it anyways. I'm unable to send it to mobile due to performance issues, however.
