Sonucido: The Mage will be delayed to 2022! I underestimated the workload and want to give it more time to make it even better Gomez

The weird part is that this is inevitable, no matter how much time you budget in for a project Cheesy

Good luck with polishing it up! Coffee

It's fine to take more time to get the game where you really want it to be before showing it to the public. You only get one chance to make a good first impression after all.

It's a fine line between giving it enough time and falling into scope creep haha, I think it's both in my case in a way  Blink

@Alain Thank you very much! It's not in the game but it was a good fit for the trailer. The game has more of an ambience in the background.

Sonucido has now officially over 5000 downloads on Steam! Toast Right

Happy new year everybody even if it's late!

Wanted to talk about the incident system. You could already see it in the trailer but I never really talked about them. Here is an example:
https://rpgcodex.net/forums/attachments/incent_example_right-jpg.22434/

It's a choose-your-own-adventure type of screen which will be used every once in a while to give the game more possibilities since the Dungeon Crawler formula wouldn't allow for anything like this otherwise. The pictures for these are made by my fiancee who also does the website stuff and all the box art!

These are also the main source of skillchecks!

Certainly! I like to give people the options, if they like the classic movement more and it isn't too much hassle, why not implement it.

Something that saves me from implementing a tutorial is the implementation of optional mouse movement. Hotkeys are still completely available but nobody has to learn them, if they don't want to learn them.

You can enable and disable it by rightclicking.

My fiancee also worked on new pictures for the game which are used in the choose-your-own-adventure-moments

Took care of a special case in the mouse movement - still need to do a full run. I also implemented a key which hides the upper UI (for screenshots or something). Made the numpad usable for playing (since some left handed guys seem to use it!)

Pretty soon I'll hit 10k lines of code in the main script Gomez

Nice! Opening image gives me the impression I'm about to read an intriguing webcomic though, it's almost disappointing that I'm not Wink

A webcomic would also be nice - I really like the style my fiancee came up with for the box art and the choose your own adventure sections of the game!
