We've decided to refactor the tutorial! We realized that letting the player learn the game properly will greatly enhance the whole experience, so we've added a step-by-step tutorial to the game.

Beyond that, we've added new enemy variants and levels:

Flying enemy: flying, ranged enemies that are fragile but dangerous
Shield enemy: slow, tough enemy that pack a punch but are very telegraphed
High-attack enemy: enemies that are very powerful, but easily countered by sliding
New levels include some of these enemies, in addition to a new environmental hazard - fire columns! These deal massive damage to the player, who must skillfully avoid them while dealing with other enemies on the field.

We've also updated the art on some things - enemies have new running animations, new fire column animations, etc.

Some demos below:

After 6 long, stressful weeks, we're finally making the official release!

We've fixed many bugs and technical issues, and added many visual changes!

  • tileset now drastically changed
  • walls and floor now have texture, instead of solid color
  • background now include clouds, and sky color is changed to be brighter
  • added end cutscene!
  • added visual response to hovering over UI buttons
  • added corresponding keybinds next to skill cooldown indicators
  • screen transition now added to main menu
  • fixed: bug with player falling through the floor
  • fixed: bug with the game soft-locking at the end screen
  • fixed: bug where the grapple would be absorbed by the boss
