(5/22/2023) Pandaland is complete! This is a passion project by myself and a couple other people that just love games. Pandaland is an colorful action/rpg where you battle enemies, buy new weapons and items, and collect fruit to increase your stats! The game also has four worlds that are laid out like a Mega Man game so that you can explore as you wish. Each playthrough you can powerup in a different way and play the game with those different strengths and weaknesses. It's really just a mix of the reasons I love video games.

Features:
-Buy new weapons and items throughout the game. Weapons will also give you new ways to find fruit if you can figure them out.
-Lots of unique colorful enemies.
-14 levels to explore and five boss fights.
-A story about a panda and a giant monster!
-Colorful characters and NPCs to talk to.
-Play as a character with customizable stats.

There are a lot of places to explore in Pandaland on your journey to find the golden fruits! Where will you go first?

I dig the style of this! Sadly not running Windows though. Do you have any videos of the game in action?

I wish I had ways to port it to other operating systems I have been making this whole game on a windows laptop haha I don't have anything recorded. My built in recording always lags so I haven't found a good way to do it yet.

I can see that this is a passion project. Graphics and sound capture the vibes of old platformers very well.

Teeny weeny suggestions:

• Graphics could use more color contrasts. Cyan, green and blue are all very bright and close to each other. That can strain eyes especially if the player has any degree of color blindness.
• Texts keep interrupting the game flow. Maybe there should be a way to turn them off (perhaps it’s only at the start, but still).

v1.0.1 Updates:

-Player starts with 10 special points so that they can use special points as soon as they buy a new weapon.
-Panda Falls(level 1) has been made easier.
-In Panda City - 1, the river jump has made made shorter.
-The sign in Panda City no longer overlaps a NPC messing up the textbox code.

I have gotten some feedback on itch, gamejolt, and the gamemaker forums (what I used to make the game). Not a whole lot here though. I wish I had a way to port it so you could actually play the game! I have appreciated the encouragement and feedback though!

​Pandaland v1.0.3 update:

-A few levels have been adjusted to fix problems.
-NPCs all have "question marks" showing if you can talk to them.
-Final Boss has been fixed.

As soon as I get my steam deck back (it's being repaired), and get itch.io set up, I'll see if the proton emulation can handle your game
