Road to Distant Lands is sort of a music game in that it's built around a song.  The idea is to have a game with elements timed to fit the music, but give the player more agency than in a rhythm game as well as have less abstract graphics.

The song is in a Progressive Rock style.  The song is, and thus the game will be, about 6 minutes, 45 seconds long.  I'm hoping to add replay value in the form of a score system.  The player will gain points for fighting monsters, and bonus points for doing so in time with the song's rhythm.

Development might be a bit slow since I've got Commedia Dell'Arte as my primary project, a secret tertiary project, and a few small flash games I'm working on.   WTF

Here's a screenshot:

I'd write a devlog about my current game, but I'm too busy making it.
