SCAN/JAM/KILL is a 2-player co-op game (for now) about piloting a huge combat robot together.
One of the players, the pilot, uses a controller for fast-paced combat and movement, the other player, the EWO uses mouse and keyboard controls to look through sensor data, guide the pilot, and conduct electronic warfare. The cooperation between Pilot and EWO is the unique selling point, requiring good communication.

We are a team of two people who have been toying with this idea for a couple of years now, and have decided to build it in our free time. Our inspiration comes from playing Squad and Project Reality, driving large vehicles together, and coordinating our efforts. Other inspirations are Titans from Warhammer 40k, Metal Gear, Battletech, Hind (1996 game), Desert Strike (1992 game) and Japanese mecha anime.

Optimizing sensors and tactics for different environments is another big part of the game: we want a heavy focus on electronic warfare: jamming enemy radars, using deception and stealth tactics in order to complete missions alive and without much battle damage. Different environments (cityscapes, mountains, plains) will impact sensor ranges in various ways, thus affecting the tactics the mech crew can use.

Right now we are working on simulating radars to a realistic but yet understandable degree:

That's a cool idea.
The graphics are giving me flashbacks of playing Mechwarrior 3 with my cousin as a kid...
It was more focused on weapons, but it was definitely cool how things like heat were modeled as well (e.g. your mech would shut down if you overheated from firing too many lasers).
This sounds like it's pushing more in that kind of direction, letting you really roleplay "being in a mech".

Hope to see more! Smiley
