If that's the sound font you're going with, I'd prefer the flute (1 and 2, perhaps 4). Others might work better with the actual instruments. Of those two, if you're aiming for catchiness, use a high register (as in the first version). If you want to emphasize the mood instead, use the lower one in order to give room to arpeggio.

That's a nice melody and a hard challenge, so I may change my opinion tomorrow.
