A dark and moody 2.5D story-driven, action puzzle game based on a child with a worrying view of the world.

About:
I love the build-style of Playdead’s INSIDE, and I want to tell the story of Lionel the Dragon via that method; Environments that tell a story, fun to play, great controls and beautiful to look at.  I’m obsessed with fore and background detail so that will play heavily in the story itself.

Story and level design:
Why “the Dragon”.  This will be explained via the story in-game.  On a side note, I have found writing chapters for Lionel the Dragon really help with the level design and adding detail.  Hopefully, I can show more of this as development progresses.

Progress:
Levels boxed out with basic lighting (1 to 5).
Playable levels (1 to 5).

Here is a teaser video:

I’m updating some social channels to document the development process:

I have been testing some destructible objects this week using TyFlow in 3DS Max.  Loads easier than creating wear and tear myself. SHERBLAM!

Some UVs, test textures in Substance followed by a quick level test in Unity.

Hi, there fellow devs,
I have just released a new teaser trailer on Reddit and received some good feedback:

Feedback:
I have been working on graphics and lighting for the last few weeks, as a result, when I posted on Reddit a fair few people picked up on the run cycle being a bit Janky so I will be working on that next.  Also, the sound needs an iterative update as the breathing while running sound is way too harsh.  So I will be updating those items and then make a new dev Diary.

Video:
Video teaser, a small 40 second clip:

Thanks for looking

Loving the direction your going. Alsook

Love inside and limbo. Was wondering, will you feature dialog in the game?

Thanks for the love.  There is a level that I haven't progressed past the design stage that may have words.  I am not sure right now.  Sorry to be vague but I am still undecided.  Grin
