Help Otu, a humble warrior monk, save a world consumed by fear in this heart-wrenching Metroidvania. Slash, cast, and use telekinesis to defeat disillusioned enemies and conquer epic boss battles! Transcend through dozens of hand-crafted trials to overcome fear itself and lift the Veil of Maia.

Been working on this project with the wife since February.
We sold our house to fund this project, so we are 100% ALL in.

We are not professionals, we are learning as we go, but you only live once and we figured why not try to make our dreams come true?

I clicked because your name is scarily close to a metal band name (Veil of Maya). Ended up sticking around to watch the devlog and wow, I must say, that's a big move to sell your home to fund your project. I fully commend that level of commitment. Best of luck with the project, and I look forward to seeing how development goes for you.

FINALLY figured out how to do audio the right way! Implemented music, sound FX, volume controls, and added a currency system

Devlog #6

Finally made our game pretty! We've been working on new environment art for a while, and this video finally shows it all off. Also got our new blessing system coded in (upgrade system.)

We made a robust map system for our metroidvania in the latest devlog! With this came a LOT of problems and I got stuck quite a few times, so we also talk about what to do when you get really stuck in your game!

Added a grapple/hookshot combo mechanic, and so SO many other improvements to my game in the last few months.
