Here's a bit from gameplay. Main mechanic is jumping on enemies multiple times and to stay in air as long as possible to reach bigger score. https://twitter.com/i/status/1569643501788315648

In core it's going to be a simple metroidvania platformer with more or less the same metroidvania elements and mechanics. Idea came from my old flash games where I tried to tell a story using somewhat cute animal characters with human characteristics. Except as writer I wish to create story around adult, spiritual themes rather than creating some fantasy that doesn't relate to player personally.
I am open for suggestions of what you expect from another new metroidvania.

Image of the 1st level shortcut area. I'm trying to find a balance between linear and open world metroidvana game. I called it metroidvania but the level design is a bit different than classic metroidvanaia. I has many branching paths but I wish to avoid too much of backtracking and crossing explored areas too much.

Oh man I love the art style and colours. Characters look hilarious.
Will it be quite story-driven?

Yes it will have a story. And game gradually gets darker story wise till the ending. I have written several pages of all sorts of details but I'm not sticking to any script. Game might change over time.

Hello! I have uploaded an early build for windows, containing 3 levels and 2 bosses. There's several and many things missing, like music isn't made yet, several paths are blocked off, might be some bugs, that I'm not aware of and map system isn't in place yet but if you are interested of how it plays then feel free to download demo. If you encounter shader error that will be fixed in future. https://karliszabers.itch.io/pigbook-demo

Hello! Although lack of interest Pigbook had several updated after the release. One update on it's way. You are welcome to give it a try, I still think it was worth my time to make it. Your reviews would help me make better games in the future. https://store.steampowered.com/app/2707190/Pigbook/Currently started development on Wreckdigger 2 avoiding some mistakes - like Pigbook animations were not playing at 60fps, which might have misunderstood as lag although it was just early decision to make it 36fps, Wreckdigger 2 feels much faster and smoother. I wish to keep some of the elements from Pigbook in the next game and build upon what was good in it. You can also try out Wreckdigger 1, it's free. https://store.steampowered.com/app/1742510/Wreckdigger/

An early image for comparison. So more detailed than first Wreckdigger part. I reused some ideas from Pigbook which I have come up after other platformer games I have made over the years. So if something seems good why not keep it but it will feel like a completely different game if I get that far as to finish it. Visual solution is minimalistic NES like with modern approach using restricted pallete.
