About Me

Hi everyone, I am Yutaka, a big fan of Slay the Spire and Vampire Survivors.
Currently, I am making a game call In Woods which is a game fusing my favorite mechanics from those game.






Overview

In Woods is a roguelike survival game. In each game, survivor need to fight against different monsters in the forest, while collecting different magic items to power up themselves.
And finally defeat the final boss to get victory.

Gameplay

Hack and Slash
A roguelike ARPG in woods!

Power Up the Character
Level up the character and collect different Magic Items!

Defeat the Monsters
Survive for a certain time and defeat the final boss to get victory!

Trailer shows some really slick movement and animation!

Is this kinda gonna be like Diablo? Will you have an overall storyline?

Hello JeremyNunns,

I have tried to make the control like Diablo at very early develop stage. However I feel it doesn't suit to my game after testing.

So, I try to design a new movement control system and I find it works better with the top-down shooter like movement control.

The Control will be like that:

WASD to control the move position

Character keep facing the mouse pointer

Left Click to prefrom Melee Attack

Right Click to prefrom Ranged Attack

Unfortunately, I have no plan and ideas to add a storyline to the game but there will be few maps and characters to let the player unlock them progressively at final release.

Thanks! I try to make the trailer as short as possible, because I think very less people would like to watch a trailer up to 20s or even a minutes if they are not the fans of the developer.

It tells 80% about the gameplay. After I making the trailer, I have also implemented a quick craft system which is using the woods to craft items and enhance the character.

This will be added into the new trailer before the game release.

Hi Everyone, the beta is halfway through. After receiving feedbacks, some new features and bug fix is applied into the game.

New Features

1) Huge Increase on difficulty
2) A cooldown timer on select page to prevent select wrong item
3) Add some new Magic Items
4) Element Effects on Weapon

Bug Fix

1) Player Take no damage when you have Bomb & Anchor or Curved Sword.
2) The Enemy Dead Event Trigger few times when get multi attack.
3) The Throwing Axe do not hit the enemy.
4) Posion Soup and Ice Stone will have no effect when damage is 0.
5) Wrong Description on Upgrade Page.
6) Wrong Description on some items.
7) Screen Ratio will keep at 16:9

I downloaded the demo but it always starts up on my secondary monitor and not on my main display which I play games on.

Sorry for late reply, I got no idea how it's happen.
But I think there may be some setting saved at user’s platform registry.
Will try to have a fix by override this data when early access release.
