Sign me up as an artist Grin. If we don't have enough programmers to match up I can program too but spriting is more my forte.

EDIT: Hmm wait. Are the sprites animated? Or is it going to be a single sprite that never moves a la spiderweb software?

Single (non-animated) sprites should be fine (especially since it's top down perspective).

You can go ahead and start now.  Just be aware that we probably won't be doing the actual swapping of assets for a while.

Uhm... what kind of game should it be? I mean, a programmer who made a platformer could end up with an artist that made top-down RPG characters.

As I said earlier, all games and art should be from top-down perspective.

Damn, is drawing things from true top down perspective hard. Or rather - coming up with ideas of such things.

Perhaps he meant a 45 degree angle?  I don't really care as long as it's consistent across all sprites.

Well, I think top down has the most versatility in terms of games that can be made with them, but feel free to fake a bit of perspective to them.  Just know that it will look weird if the programmer decides to have sprites rotate in the game.

Try Flash+Flixel, I recommend it.

Mark me down for some music!  Would each game need just one track?

Alright, looks like need more artists.  If there aren't enough artists by the time we're ready to go, then I'll probably just give someone's art packet to two designers.  I'll probably also join in myself as an artist (although I don't have that much art skill, it will at least fill a slot).

Of course more programmers are still welcome to join as well.

Also, I'm not sure how I'm going to handle music as there are so much fewer musicians than programmers.  Again I'll probably just give out the same track to multiple people.  If any musicians want to donate multiple tracks, that would be helpful, but it's not a necessity.

I figure we'll have a week or two after the Adult/Edu compo is done to make all the assets and games, then once everyone's ready, well do the asset exchange.

I'll sign on as a musician if we need an extra, but I'm already doing programming.  Seems kinda strange to be doing two things.  Shrug
