From time to time people ask me what I want, as if its some profound question. They really cut through the bullshit and figured it all out by asking this deep thing.

I'll say stuff like "I want Silverware Games to be successful." or "I want to have a happy life with the woman I love and start a family." or just joke around about how "I want to be super rich and powerful."

That always disappoints whoever thought up this brilliant question.

Am I supposed to say "I want a burrito and a diet coke?"

"I want what everyone wants: for my girlfriend to dress up as Wonder Woman, tie me up with the golden lariat, and force me to tell the truth."

Its a really dumb question, but maybe you guys have interesting answers?

"I want people to trust me?"

"I WANT TO BE LOVED"

Apparently the things I want are all verboten: how about I get a menu of things its OK to want and I'll pick something out.

I usually kid around people (when I work, I usually do it alone), so that is what I'm usually doing when somebody asks me that.
Sometimes, this is my reaction.


I stop my laughter immediately, my lips fall from smile to a straight line.

I look into the distance.

"I want..." I whisper, as my eyes squirt a little under thick and black eyebrows.

I slowly turn my head to look into their eyes, without a slightest change in expression.

"Everything."

How about this for a want: I want some people to email into the show, like Dr. Horrible has at the beginning of his sketch. Am I that smelly that even my emails stink?

For some reason that voice in my noggin read the title a bit different and with a strong hillbilly accent...

"WHAT.
DO YOOOOU!!!
WANT.
TO DOOOO?!!

WHAT. THE. FOOOOCK.

HUH!?"

...so I suspect I might have to see a shrink soon.

I've been dealing with this question for the past year and half, and I am at a boiling point where I could really start breaking a couple of furniture items in my home.
I'm unemployed for almost 1 year, the last job drained my spirit force and I can't seem to find ANYTHING worth doing with all the experience, with all the knowledge, with alll my good intentions. There's either someone a tinsy bit better, cheaper, I am a day too late, or a day too early, too straight forward, not straight forward enough, OR I AM THE PEEERFECT FIT, buuuuuuut unfortunately the company has no funds currently...

So what I want? I want a fucking break.
I just want a fucking break.
Make art for games, for fair wage, in a small studio. But apparently it's too fucking much to ask for.
