Hat Wobble Games is a new indie studio looking to hire a 3D artist to bring our large cast of characters and monsters to life. Our game is in a low-poly 1990s-era style, with strong elements of fantasy and lighter touches of sci-fi and surrealism. We are looking for someone comfortable not only with modeling and rigging, but making decisions on character proportions, lighting, and tone as well. If you can animate as well as model, that’s a huge plus.
What you’ll do:
Phase 1: Work with us to get the proportions and style of our models right. We know we want to do low-poly. We know we need to have lots of models fighting onscreen at once, always viewed from the same camera angle. We know we’ll ultimately need about 100 models, many of which will be reskins. You can help us fill in the gaps.
Phase 2: Model, rig, (maybe animate), and repeat. We’ll provide you with visual descriptions, reference images, lore, and personality for your subjects. We want you to take our character concepts and bring them into existence in a way that you’re excited about. If you think a character is poorly designed or just lame, we’d rather you update it so that it’s in line with your vision than turn yourself into a production machine.
