It's been 6 years since I left TIG, and today I randomly stumbled upon a tigsource link. Seeing the UI unchanged, some names and avatars I instantly recalled, it genuinely put a smile on my face. I missed this! And even if nobody remembers me, it strangely feel like home.
So, cheers everyone Beer!, hope I find you well!

Hope your dreams came true, some of them at least. Hope you shipped that game that you've been working so hard on, you made a name for yourself, you met or been found by that special someone, found some sort of happiness or peace even in these unpleasant times we had.

I'd love to hear some stories if you care to share, and reconnect/make some new connections.

A tiny bit about me, I finally published one game, unsuccessful and unfinished, but just making it, to this day is a huge success for me. Career wise it got better, had some new highs, some new lows. In face of adversity I kept my love and passion for creating art and games unspoiled. Learned new tricks, new skills, met amazing people, lost others.
A lot of my frustrations, and I had plenty of those, got replaced by optimism. There's still a long road ahead but life turns out to be not that grim if you do something about it.
Still I'm not certain if I will be here for long, but for the time being, I missed being part of a community, surrounded by "my people". So for now, it's great to be back  Gentleman

Nice to meet (re-meet?) you Alex, I've been working away on a lot of different game ideas for years, but sadly it seems like you gotta play the social game if you want to make it in this world so I'm coming up with what my version of that is.

Got engaged, my apartment is much cleaner than it was. Actually my YT channel has a lot of short little updates on what I've done with my life, the "Coffee Radars" are usually under a minute and give a good update of my current circumstances at the time:

Anyway, nice to chat, feel free to reach out whenever, I'm @michaelplzno on every platform.

Edit: oh yeah did you see the new Nick Offerman show "Devs?"

Personally I wouldn't say "sadly" because even as an introvert, connecting with others, seeing a different perspective on life is refreshing. However I understand you! Having to connect in order to get eyes on your work can be upsetting and it creates artificial connections which are just another form of manipulation Hand Thumbs Down Right.

This is an important pillar of life, I feel, finding a true friend. Your work becomes that much easier when you are part of a tribe so congrats to both of you!

I saw the trailer but I doubt it will be something for me to enjoy. It feels like one of those movies made only with revenue in mind.

Devs looked bad to me at first too, but its actually better than the preview lets on, just to spoil it a bit (copy text to view):

the devs are working on a machine that can view the future and the past and the main character's boyfriend gets murdered trying to spy on the machine, resulting in a quest for justice which is a struggle against a giant corporation that can see into the future.

Also, I'm sort of an ambivert, I'm right in the middle between introvert and extrovert. There are a lot of people who seem like they are affluent and influential who I try to be nice to and it just gets really unpleasant fast. However, I've also socialized with people who are just normal folk who are a lot of fun to talk to. Generally, I avoid the people who are trying to "climb the pyramid" The people who just see the world in terms of a rigid hierarchy.

However, my social circle is usually people who can't do much to get my games seen. I don't really mind, because having friends is its own reward, perhaps even more rewarding than having a hit game, but it stinks imo that you can't just sit around and make a game in private and then show it in its finished state and get seen. Seems crazy that doesn't work.
