As long as you can, of course.

I love the look of this. Make sure that he has to pause briefly mid scream to take in a deep breath, before continuing to scream in earnest :D

I have the lungs of a whale. Prepare for excellent screaming.

Wait- so, you are this out of control little guy screaming at the top of his lungs as he travels faster and faster in the air, tearing up the sky in a hilarious manner, and you are supposed to avoid the asteroids?
Perhaps its just the sadistic nature in me coming out, but wouldn't be fun to have objects that you intentionally try to to smash into?

Dodging asteroids while driving yourself into various power ups to keep you going sounds perfect. As long as the power ups explode and shatter in a glorious and noisy manner.

And as a alternative to dodging asteroids at times you could have the player fly INTO a hole in a giant asteroid passing by, narrowing the players area of movement.

I've been toying with this idea all day. My throat is sore, and my brain is swollen. I'm thinking to myself 'as long as possible yes, but how does it sound in the game?'

Is the scream going to be a consistent thing from the moment you begin moving or just at the beginning of each change of speed? If it was like a shocked burst that trails off at the start when you begin moving, that then has a level 2 intensified shocked yelp/scream that trails off, ending with a horrified shocked scream at level 3 of speed, it might be more realistic.. I only say this because after managing to loop a level 1 scream, I realized how annoying a 10 second scream that is looped with a *Deep breath* at the end of each loop,

could be!

Feedback on scream durations and looping, who woulda thunk it.

Yeah, there is a fine line between it being cute/amusing to being seriously irritating.

If the screams are to be digitized, you could try modulating the pitch to make music out of the screaming noises ...

That is what i tried, I used the cubase studio 5 pitch shifter to shift the voice into a different shape and transpose the pitch. But yes, there would be a line between haha and .. please stop screaming. And that youtube video was switched off in.. 2 seconds, nice!

I think a burst of a scream, as you suggested, might work best.

I've mailed 3 screams over to Michael, but yes I am feeling the burst of a scream is the best route to follow. I will be in scream action soon.

Yeah, I was trying to say that I thought it was a bad idea. I probably should have added a warning.

That's a great character design. I love the look of pure terror on his face in the animations. Good color and font choices on the title-screen and I really like the artwork.

Actually, I'd like to see stuff like that in the actual game. You know, grass. Maybe you could make wind as you rush over grass and trees, and if you're going fast enough the wind could rip all the leaves off the trees (or rip the trees out of the ground?). I don't know.

Looking lovely Kiss

The powerups seem a tad out of place stylistically, perhaps?  not sure though.

Ah, this is looking pretty good! Great colors, Serene. What are the rocks, by the way- are they raster or vector / flat shaded polygons?
