Is fortnite being made in another dimension where money is somehow not valuable? I know 100 devs who would love to take a month and make a custom peter griffin with fat physics and the works for about $2,000 USD. Like there are probably thousands of devs who would take that deal. And it's just one person's worth of work.

A properly rigged peter griffin model that's up to code with epic's standards for fortnite would cost a lot more than just 2k. Also, consider that this is an entire new body type and skeleton that epic now has to support for every emote, existing and upcoming, in the entire game, not to mention the base set of gameplay animations. It's also not the first time this has happened; the rick and morty crossover, for instance, has morty riding a miniature mech suit just so he fits the proportions of the male rig.

It's unfortunate, but yeah, I completely understand why they wouldn't want to create that much work for themselves just for one crossover character.
