the remake for flywrench got 3000$ in 1 day
It only has 9 backers and something tells me one of those backers put a pile of money into it, it might be a certain backer that made fan game, but who knows? Edit: Breakdown of the prize brackets 6*20 = 120 2*50 = 100 ---------- 220 Something tells me someone threw 3 grand at it, and didn't take a prize.

This is a really interesting subject. I'm suprised I haven't heard about it yet. I know there was a web page somewhere promising to be a hub for game developers to beg for investors, but this is by far more of what I was hoping for- something more community/indie-oriented. I hope everyone gets a lot of use out of this hub (money would be nice too among other things). It seems like a great idea.
This reminds me of what Mr. Gabe Newell was talking about earlier: how he wishes that everyone could fund game projects and get rewarded for it.
The future is now!

Kickstarter is such a great site! A lot of the stuff on there is downright inspirational. I knew it was only a matter of time before the indie games community found it.
Make sure all of you guys are giving away good swag for early donators!

Out of curiosity, how are you guys going about getting the word out about your projects? I'd assume you couldn't count on too many people just browsing randomly through the kickstarter site looking for interesting things to put money into...

No Im promoting on all the network sites (Twitter, Digg, Facebook, etc) promoting on film, game sites among others. I've also paid to generate visits and google ad's too so hopefully something comes from it. I hope people support, this is a concept ive supported ever since kiva.org was created which is a great system of micro loans for charity.

Hey everyone! I'm looking for an invite, if anyone has one laying around... I need to fund a short film about child slavery. You can see some of my work from a recent film I made in Cuba at www.jacefreeman.comPlease don't hesitate to let me know if you have one! Thanks.

i think maybe we should keep this thread mainly about *game developers* who want invites, otherwise everyone will come out of nowhere and ask for them D:

I've been looking for funding for my Sierra Inspired Space opera for sometime. I want to create games that focus on the story. I could desperately use an invite if anyone still has any.

I'm happy to see that a lot of us indies are getting invites and getting donations! Though, for those that are looking for invites, as an act of good faith perhaps you could talk a bit more about yourself and what work you've done and etc. I think those with remaining invites to hand out will definitely be more inclined to spread the wealth if they know that you'll put it to good use.
