i hope you had a good start in 2025.
i made good progress and also reworked how the city mode works.
Just to recap: So far you had actionpoints counting up. Eacha ction had a cost and you choose what to trigger...making the expensive ones almost never used. It was ok fun but not a lot.
I took some inspiration from FTL and embedded a system where each possible action needs time to load to be used.
New actions, still represented by the cards on top, will be unlocked through research you do while exploring the robots.
Those actions can be:
- Shooting you at the robot to start the level
- Start an emeregncy crew who stops fire and rebuilds the city
- Rockets which attack the robot
- A city shield which kill the projectiles of the robot
- Jets which kill the projectiles of the robot
- A giant gun
And of course they will unlock as mentioned over time.
I added one more system which was needed to give the player a reason to actually spend time in the city mode.
There is a scan of the robot now going on which will boost your total research you need to do to win the game.
You can skip that but then you will have to grind more in the levels.
I also started painting new backgrounds (still wip) to have more variation
