I think the system would be better if it rewarded people who work hard
Ok but this makes no sense in the context of indie game success. "The system" isn't an engineered algorithm like on social media, unless you count the steam store as the only way people hear about games. And even then, games that try to, well, game storefront algos with otherwise worthless slop will only get so far since they'll accumulate negative reviews and people will steer clear of them.
As a rule of thumb, "the system" is just people consuming and engaging with your art, and if people don't enjoy it, then that's their prerogative to not give you attention or recompense. Sure, things slip through the cracks all the time, but working hard on something that ultimately doesn't entertain people will not see success.
Even if the algorithm were in your favor, it wouldn't pick up your work because your work isn't good enough, at least not yet. You need to spend more time cultivating what you want to express and exercising your artistic skills so that one day you can make something that competently expresses interesting ideas and/or fun game mechanics. I realize that calling your work "unskilled" to your face is harsh, but it doesn't look like you realize how amateur your output is, so that's why people keep telling you this and it feels like personal attacks.
tl;dr, you're not good enough at what you do yet to complain about lack of exposure. Go back to the dojo and train more.
