After a few years of work I managed to put together a demo!
I only had it in me to make it possible you might not encounter bugs, but I probably overlooked a lot of little things.
If anyone wants to take the time to check out my demo, I would be very thankful!

Hey Carmofin,

I played your game.

What I liked:
- The game looks really good
- Everything controls well.
- There is some nice polish.  Like the trees that jump when cut
- The water is very pretty
- The dust in front of the windows inside the tavern looks really good

What could use some work:
- You should probably tell the player that they must have an xbox controller
- I did a sprinting jump across the broken bridge near the beginning.  I was stopped by a blatant invisible wall
- The animation for opening a treasure chest is a little long
- The bat enemies require a jump to hit.  It's a bit annoying
- The words on the sign in Puck Town warped when I got close to them
- I managed to jump into a house in Puck down.  I jumped on a bush, then a barrel shelf, then to the roof.  I fell into the house and got stuck.  I had to restart.
- I did something similar inside of a house.  I jumped onto a stack a crates and ended up on some kind of floor above the house.  I had to restart.
- If you pick up an item in the shop you can just leave.
- If you pick up an item in the shop and roll the animation changes back to normal.
- It took a few times to drop the item in the right spot in the shop.
- I died to the pig boss.  Looks like I had to start over so I quit.

This seems like a lot.  I'm not trying to be mean.  I'm just trying to be a thorough play-tester.

I really like your game!  I want to see it succeed

Thank you a lot for your time and effort! I will look into each of these and try to fix them in a more polished version!
All that info is a big help!

The game looks great, but I found a few issues:
-There is no visual feedback when the enemies are damaged. I mean, technically there is a sound when I hit slimes, but other than that it is hard to tell if I actually deal any damage.
-The same about main character - it is hard to tell when I get damage. I died twice without noticing it.
-The bats are invincible. Looks like I can't hurt them, but they attack me without any problems.
-Buying map in the shop was quite confusing. I picked up the map and threw it on the table, but nothing happened. The shopkeeper asked if I want to buy it only when I throw the map on his head.

But other than that the game looks really promising.

Oh wow, that is a learning I did not expect.
I thought it was obvious you have to jump to hit the bats (that's how it goes, don't sweat it).
Maybe I need to reconsider placing them so early, hm.

Further, the enemy-hit feedback I understand. I'm thinking about it for a while already.
But the player-hit feedback confuses me.
The player plays a hurt-animation, gets flung back and blinks for invincibility.
Was there a case where this was not triggered or do you really feel this is not enough of an indication?

Finally about buying in the shop...
This is an interesting issue to me.
I suppose this has always been wonky.
It's a very easy fix, where I just have to adjust the hitbox.
Then why didn't I?
Because with 5-10 tries I got so good at targeting that at least for my eyes, the issue disappeared and became undetectable.
That's why you need testers, haha!
