Hello,
My name is Maxim, and I am reaching out to you with a business proposal. I am looking for an assistant who is willing to work for a share of the potential future profits to help create a promising computer game.

About me and my experience:
I am 44 years old and an experienced programmer and developer specializing in certain areas. For over 10 years, I have not worked officially, focusing instead on my own and freelance projects. Here are some of my achievements:
1. Creating a poker AI (heads-up):
Over five years, I developed an AI capable of playing nearly perfect poker in a 1v1 format. The program analyzed gameplay, simulated billions of games, and optimized tens of thousands of parameters. While manual input was initially required for some tasks, the AI was able to read cards directly from the poker room's screen to save time. Unfortunately, the project was discontinued because poker rooms are no longer accessible in Latvia.
2. Developing an arcade game:
In three months, I created a simple arcade game with 10 levels and two bosses, including all graphics and level design. The game uses gameplay statistics to automatically adjust parameters based on player behavior.
Link: https://sourceforge.net/projects/battery/.
3. Browser-based RPG/strategy "Mattery":
I developed a playable but incomplete browser-based multiplayer RPG/strategy game similar to Disciples.

About the project and my proposal:
I am working on a game with the code name CodeCraft. The concept is a 2D Minecraft where players control bots that they can customize or script. The game is designed to be user-friendly, avoiding unnecessary complexity.

My primary goal is to leverage modern AI services to accelerate development. However, I currently cannot set up a full-fledged bank account to pay for an AI subscription. I propose the following collaboration:
You cover the subscription cost for an AI service (e.g., ChatGPT or Gemini AI by Google) for one month.
I will use this service to develop the game, including programming, graphics, and other aspects.

I am also open to expanding the team and looking for individuals with experience in:
Game development on Unity (C#).
Using AI for programming.

If you are interested in joining the project as an assistant, consultant, or developer for a share of the profits or a fixed fee, I would be happy to discuss the details further.
You can contact me at [email protected].

Best regards,
Maxim

Got your email about this thread.

I'm personally not too interested in Rev Share Deals. I've had a few people offer this, and it just means I work as a slave: do what I'm told and have no stake in the creative direction and also for no pay.

Also, this project you are proposing is wildly complex and ambitious. The amount of times I've heard people say "like Minecraft but..." Even I have one of those projects:

It's a beast to work on something so massive, and requires a lot of coding power. But I'm not so sure why I wouldn't work on my own project instead of getting bossed by you, and for free no less?

Hi Michael. We could be an equal partners without bossing by my side if we agree on some main points.

1) to be equal partners you would have to be doing as much work as me. I have some doubts as to that.

2) At some point we will disagree (Perhaps on your core ideals!) what then? You get your way? I get my way? I'm not really so interested in "equal" partnerships with someone I just met. I try to make my marrage an equal partnership and so does my wife, but we've put a lot of work into that relationship, and most importantly we know and love each other. I don't think this can be done with someone I just met on the internet.

I'm happy to discuss your vision, either here or via some chat service, or on email. And I'm happy to help you find some potential pitfalls and sticking points that might be avoided. I do this free of charge because I like talking about game design.

But I'm not so sure I want to go all in on an "equal partnership" after 2-3 messages.

We Play HearthStone with Korn

I guess by now I will continue making my Java Mech Station.

Btw Michael about CodeCraft: in some cases I would give a role of a project leader to you.

I subbed to your YT.

In your youtube video about the Korny Tactical Card Game, I do think it's possible to choreograph a lot of action in a game to match Background Music. (Perhaps even what you are listening to on spotify!) Particularly if you dynamically change the time certain animations take to some kind of note track information that the music has. It's a little like Jazz where you have a basic structure but you can take longer or slower to get to a certain musical idea. I did want to mess with that for my project

https://bobblebonanza.io

Which as it stands is a pretty basic pachinco game with some math sprinkled in. One note I have about matching music to the action is that it makes the whole thing seem unreal, rigged up, even fake. So you might think that having a big sting in the music at a dramatic moment will evoke a lot of emotions, but really it just makes it feel like everything was pre-destined to happen no matter what. Just a head's up.

As always, I'm trying to find the fun in life and in the games. So I go where the fun is.

I'm happy to be involved as some kind of a "leader" if it doesn't drive me crazy. Having clear communication about what both parties want is a cornerstone of collaboration.

Yes, I use Microsoft Copilot's built in ai for Visual Studio Code. It is helpful.
