Hey all, Happy Hannukah, Merry Christmas,

I have an updated version of https://wartaintedfalls.io with global leaderboards. I'm trying to see if they work. Right now, the scoring system is open ended. You can just build more towers till your machine (or phone) crashes. But I want to see what happens when multiple people contribute to the score system:


Here is what the actual game looks like:


If yall could pack up my high score list with more than 10 people I'd appreciate it.

UPDATE:

Based on the limited info my stats system is gathering people aren't dying. I think either people play for a while and then just turn it off, or people get stuck somewhere.

So, I now have the score register after each level, and display to the player what your ranking is.

yeah, right now just building decimators is the killer strat, I'll have to mess with the baddie type as well as some kind of synergies for the towers.

More I wanted to test the backend for this run, I'll try to spice it up a bit.

a bit more feedback:
stacking towers starts to feel a bit rough around the edges once you start making really tall towers
i wish i could see what towers do before deciding on them (so like an option to cancel?)
getting rid of towers somehow would be nice (selling?)


seems like a neat concept

I'm planning on making it possible to control the movement pattern by building walls of towers, like in Desktop TD (and a lot of others.) The baddies will use pathfinding.

I also probably will have a cap of 5 towers high in the next version because it gets crazy with power stacks. But I'm thinking that maybe the top tower is a combination of all the towers below, so you can build super towers.

Probably will add a little SELL icon you can drag your tower to, if you drag them off the edge of the cliff.

I'm also planning on saving the tower layout in a cookie so that you can come back to your custom stack of towers you designed with new bad guys.

(Also want to animate the falls water.)

Some light hacking, we had a few bogus scores added to the list. It crashed the backend because bad data was added to the list. I'm still looking into how to secure the data.

What I'd like to do is have a secret API key that the app gets from the server and can't be intercepted... but I don't think that is possible?

Anyway, one option is to require user registration for each player, which kind of stinks. Another option is to have the score verified based on what your tower configuration is. Still working on it. But it should be impossible to knock down the backend now I think? If you can crash it, let me know and I'll try to make it more secure.

Nice game, I got to first place, something like 481919, I got lucky and the river was way pushed towards the right. The helper upgrades seem like they will be nice when you get them done, so far it is pretty fun, maybe add a few towers that go in the water, or on the edge of the water, perhaps a torpedo tower.

I think only the highest tower will fire, and there will be different towers like multi shot, area of effect, percent damage and so on, that you can combine via stacking.

Then each level you get a bunch of random towers to add to your stacks and you can re-organize them etc.

Then maybe each day there is a different sequence so that people can play a new tower sequence each day.

Hi!

Nice little game, I was able to get into the top ten, then I reset the game by mistake when trying to build one of the towers that appears lower in the menu - buttons too close?
