I expect this will be a small local jam, although all are welcome to come (and indeed the mighty Salt-Man himself will be flying in for it)!

We're throwing a game jam at the Flashbang offices to honor ANJ [androidarts.com]'s visit to the states!  Prom is staying with Dan to pound out some sweet Cortex Command art, but we're luring him away for an intense weekend of buttery game jams.

Here's how it'll work:  Arne produces far more game design ideas than any one man could ever produce.  But what about 10 men, fueled by Solo Cafe's delicious teas over one furious weekend of programming?  Probably not then, either.

But damnit, we're going to try.

Begins Friday, August 21st and ends Sunday, August 23rd.

Shoot me an email if you think you can make it so we can plan our plans:  matthew atthedomainnameof blurst.com

P.S.  This is not TIGJam 2009, which will be in October (with details announced soon)!

What can I do except offer this photo as a humble sacrifice to the altar of Arnegeddon?

They actually spike back down to cheap at the very last minute...

 Embarrassed

I'm not too exciting in person I'm afraid. I have a tendency to cocoon and just look dorky working on my stuffs. While I'm somewhat comfortable with written English I haven't actually spoken more than a few words of it Shocked Hopefully it'll soon improve to a level where I'm able to give a response without having to spend 5 seconds translating and figuring out where the nasty lisp sounds goes (or reconstructing the sentence to avoid lisp sounds all together).

I didn't bring all of my files, but much of my stuff is online anyways, and I did bring some new material. Well, ok, it's just a bunch abandoned prototypes which I fool myself into thinking I'll be working on some day. IIRC, Matthew wanted to do something with the, uh... binary asteroid system space taxi concept.

I've been working a bit on figuring out where I dropped Zerberk, so I might be able to show that off a bit. It's kinda zero player atm. but I think I should be able to just plop my joypad class in there.

Yarr, I must make it to this.  (Especially after missing NMS.)  Tell me again the legend of these "cheap tickets."

Anyone wiling to buy a ticket from Australia to SF? But seriously, this is going to be great, I've always wanted to see one of Arne's ideas turned into a proper game.

I only had about half done (800 lines) on Shortcake Chief (Farmyard fun + E.T. + Strawberry Shortcake + Halo) when I derailed and painted a butt instead. Matthew, Kyle and Adam got an amazing amount of stuff done.

Also Steve's prototype that he started building was turning out pretty sick by the end of the jam too!  Not to mention Ben's AZTEZ MADNESS
