We were starting to think it was near impossible for players to get that far. Nah, I had made it to 11 or 12 years in that version.

Whoops. There was a small bug with the new equipment's sprite not showing up at times. Its fixed now and the links are updated, sorry for any inconvenience or confusion.

Thanks for the compliment. Yeah, we're still working on it. The next update is another fairly big one so it's taking some time. The more I add, the more everything I've changed affects everything else...and my code is incredibly messy at this point so it's hard to work with and tricky to fix the bugs. We never intended for this game to be such a big project. Anyway, the next version should be done soon...ish.

Awesome game. I've never killed more than 19 soldiers, though. :\ Also, when I tried to unmute the music in the title screen, I got this error: ___________________________________________ ERROR in action number 1 of Begin Step Event for object title:
Error in code at line 53: sound_loop(bgm);
at position 21: Unknown variable bgm
EDIT: The game freezes when I fire a weapon while the music is changing.

Thanks!
Strange errors. Did you download and install the music pack?

Im loving this one. Yeah, i pretty much agree with some of the criticisms. The minigun needs to be more powerful (making some enemies armored to show off its firepower sound like a sensible approach). And the fonts for the news headlines should be more pixelated to fit in with the rest of the visual elements. The character / enemies desperately need at the very least basic walking / jumping animations also. In any case, this has lots of potential.

We're just down to bugfixes and little details for the new, probably final version. So I'd say you can expect it sometime this eternity Also, what is this "walking animations" some of you speak of? Madness!

Exciting! Y'know I had that bug a while ago with the Flamethrower loop crashing my game because I idiotcally lack a sound card? Well its now ok for me to fire the flame, but I get crash when it hits a guy.
Don't feel you have to fix that. I can't even run Spelunky or Blocksum any more.

I played a whole bunch and am weirdly addicted to it. Now that I read that there's something cool after a long game (I only lasted 2 years), I'll go back and play some more. Or maybe I'll wait for build 4, with those fancy walking animations!
I really think an interface of some sorts would help give some visual flair to the game. How about showing those headlines in a News Ticker at the bottom of the screen à la CNN, along with headlines that would show kill counts, date, or other info you might want to share with the player. (if this has already been suggested, sorry, I browsed through the thread quickly!)
