After playing a lot of great independently-made games, I decided to take an attempt at making my own - this is Eclipse, a puzzle-platformer I started working on fairly recently. It's the first real game (messing around with Flash in High School didn't count) I've ever attempted to make, and at the moment I'm working on it alone (I need to find someone who knows how to, um, make music), so bear with me. I'm using Multimedia Fusion to create it. Standard platformer controls, plus a button to use the current item/weapon you're holding and a button to shift between Night and Day. The video and picture below should hopefully show you what I'm going for. Man, I really need to draw a better background.

I know exactly how you feel.  Tongue

Looking quite nice!  I'm a sucker for retro platformers.

I'd write a devlog about my current game, but I'm too busy making it.

Well, for example in the video, the boxes on the top/bottom will both move as long as one character is pushing it, so to get the Day character across the spikes the Night character had to move the box for him. It's basically just a gimmick for dual-screen puzzles, but hopefully I can come up with some creative stuff.

EDIT: Probably should have explained the basic concept of the game, too. D'oh! One half of a key is somewhere on the top screen and one half is somewhere on the bottom, you have to obtain both to progress to the next screen/level.

That is pretty cool.

Oh, this has potential. There are some nice touches, like the little projectiles that stick into the ground, and the way the hovering enemies dip in mid-air.

I'd like to see more puzzles in action, I'm not sure yet how you plan to use the mechanics.

Keep up the good work!

You better not - the background is my favourite part!  You could parrallax that shit up, but it looks like a single screen game, so maybe not.

Ha, well you could always have it just scroll energetically in random directions to show off the parallax Grin

Eclipse- actually the first time I saw the topic I thought you started it, then I said, "Hey wait..." Well, I'm glad it's officially sanctioned at any rate.
