I came across Liberated Games a little while ago, and I've decided it's about time I shared it. Liberated Games posts on once commercial games that have been released (liberated) as freeware or open source games. It is the legit cousin of abandonware. Since then I've also discovered the list of commercial games released as freeware entry a Wikipedia.

Does anyone else know of any other sites that cover commercial games that have become freeware or open source or of other games that have been liberated?

I think I do have another site similar to Liberated Games buried somewhere in my bookmarks but I'll have to try and find it tonight if possible, since I'm at work now. Liberated games has always been the best source though and this other site may not have been updated for a while. I'll edit this post if and when I manage to find it.

I've known about the site for quit some time, but I didn't know so many Quake games were liberated. I still have the actual and real CDs. :-O
