I thought the castle's walls were going to be... dark? black? something like that...

They were.. And, I could still make them that colour. It needs a lot of messing around with anyways. Maybe I'll make them darker and more stone-like.

You play as a not-so-rich gentleman who becomes enraged/jealous that there are people rich enough to build a floating home.
I think you should communicate this by giving all the privelaged and wealthy gentlemen curiously over-sized top-hats, while the player himself wears a laughably stout and slightly battered top hat. Cos it'd be funny. Also you must use the word "guffaw" at least thrice.

hahahah that's good. Drazzke - that font in the last pic doesn't match the rest of the art. And now that you detailed your gentleman, he doesn't match the scene as well as he used to. Don't get me wrong though, it looks really nice. Get his monocle wip in so we can see how much damage he does.

hehe, thanks. I'll mess around with the font and other graphics a bit and see if I can improve them.
I haven't been able to work on this the last few days, and my computer (which is really old) just ran into some problems, so I can't use it atm. Hopefully I'll have something new within the next few days.

OK, computer seems OK now so I worked on the look of the castle walls a bit. As for the font, I'm still working on that. Is this too dark and gloomy, or does it not fit at all with the rest of the graphics?

not sure if it looks like a castle enough Well, it's not exactly supposed to look like a medieval castle.. I was thinking more between 1800 and 2100. It sort of looks like the flying castle from steamboy.
Didn't think of that, but now that you mention it, it does I think that's more of the style I was looking for.

I think if you made the background a little gloomy it would fix up the overall cheeriness of the scene. The castle, although lacking detail (though fits that intro at the original post), looks dark enough so combined with a dark background-maybe some rain clouds or something-it would look fine. Plus, this is just the beginning of the game right?

Yeah, it's the 2nd room in the Game, and the first room is really small. So, you'll be seeing this door for about 20 seconds, unless you don't make the jump I may have a screenshot of the inside of the castle later today...
