FFS, how do I set this up? any IDE is ok, Visual C++, Dev-C++, Eclipse, you name it (not djgpp) so can someone please provide me a detailed walkthrough of setting up myself to get ready to develop with allegro? I'm a complete retard when it comes to setting up external libs...

Try this.

http://www.bloodshed.net/devcpp.html

Then this:

http://devpaks.org/details.php?devpak=1

IMO it's better to learn to use GCC on the command line (MinGW), but DevC++ is supposed to be the easy way in.  I don't use it myself, so I can't help you if you have problems.

The devcpp links shouldn't be DJGPP; devcpp is mingw ...
Anyway, see http://wiki.allegro.cc/Category:IDE_Configuration ( or, more generally http://wiki.allegro.cc/Getting_Started )
