Couldn't that be a potential problem when using the likeness of a real person?

Well if the people who made Barkley: Shut Up and Jam: Gaiden can do it then so can we.

barkley: shut up and jam gaiden was all about copywrite infringement they stole so much shit it's ridiculous. just leave it. If we're gonna get a lawsuit (we won't) we are just using this character that targ invented. just so happens to look a bit like charles barkley

It's parody and thus covered under fair use. That's why they're able to make fun of celebrates on TV and on cartoons like South Park without getting in trouble for it.

It's still Charles Barkley. It was just some free game on the internet so nothing is really going to come of it. I am pretty sure this game is free, but if this game were going to be sold at any point, you'd definitely have issues.

If Indie Brawl went commercial, determining the profit distribution would be a nightmare, and we'd lose permission for a lot of material. Barkley would be the least of our problems. In any case, Barkley of SUaJ:G is distinct enough from the real-life basketball player that I think he merits inclusion in Indie Brawl. Since his character is a parody, it should fall under fair use, and I can't imagine he'd come after us anyways. It's a risk I'm willing to assume.

Dunno if it's the same but wasn't there a big deal with M. Bison in Street Fighter being too close to Mike Tyson's likeness?
M. Bison is Balrog's original name, if you don't know.

C. Farkley!
Yeah, switch his name with Naija or something.
How we he even find out? Does he even known about the other game?

I don't recall hearing that. Though if it is true, commercial and free ware are two different issues.

It's a nice start. He is seriously underpowered (he only has 3 attacks with less than a half-second of warm-up time), but balancing will come in time.

How about an "alley oop" power, which is basically bouncing the ball on the floor then getting hit back in order to execute a double jump, which would only work over floor.
