Downloading It looks awesomme, I can't wait to play it Give you my feedback after playing ! => EDIT: I've not done finishing the demo but it was pretty fun ! I just got a few question: - Does it is only a tournament or do you have a story after that? - Do you change place? or era ? (like after the desert you go on medieval stuff ) But i've really enjoyed it! Congrats for your first paying game !!

Thanks, I'm glad you're enjoying it! The whole story takes place during the tournament, but the arenas change as you go through the leagues. (In spite of the common locale, there's a bit more to the game's story than first meets the eye--it's gradually revealed as you progress further and further up the leagues.)

Mentioned on RPGWatch and LinuxGames. Also, the Windows demo has been updated with a proper installer. If anyone reading this is interested in writing a review of the game for their blog/website/podcast, please PM me for a review code and the link to the full version.

I keep forgetting to try this. Maybe I'll get a chance this weekend when I actually have free time.

Please do! I love hearing peoples' reactions. Some more good news: GamersHell wrote a news piece on it, and I've gotten my first affiliate selling the game.

I've tried it out. I don't see myself buying it, but it is still pretty fun.
I can't say I'm a fan of the aesthetics. The portraits are probably a bit amateurish for a commercial game, and the top down view doesn't make the battles look very impressive. The music is pretty dull for this type of game. Some kickin' music would do wonders for the whole experience.
The game play itself is based around a solid premise. Combat is solid, but a bit simplistic. I imagine that it gets more complex further on, though.
I'm not a fan of character perma-death. It forces you to play very defensively, and makes experimenting with different strategies more difficult. It also has the strange side effect of making the main character's death less problematic than the death of a support character, since all you lose is money. This is my single biggest complaint about the game, although I'm sure it's a selling point for others.
Good luck with this. I hope it works out for you.

Thanks for giving this a try, and for the feedback! The battles do indeed get progressively more complex as you proceed. I included permadeath for a couple of reasons. The most important one is that it plays into the theme of the game (which you didn't really get to see much of, but it's played out in the full version). I also included it to encourage more careful, strategic play. You don't necessarily have to play defensively, but it does certainly punish players who make risky moves without thinking through the enemy's likely response. It's one of those "make the player's choices have lasting consequences" things.
